- Job-listing data shows Canada’s labor market is recovering as economy reopens. Indeed Canada, a jobs website, reported total postings last week are down 30% from a year ago, an improvement from the 31% decline a week earlier. All provinces except Quebec seeing strength in new postings.
Source - Canadian company, TC Energy Corp, to pursue other permitting means to get regulatory authorization to build its pipeline across wetlands and waterbodies, after a U.S. supreme court ruling quashed its regulatory authorization. The pipeline would carry 830,000 barrels daily.

To stimulate business in the city, pedestrian zones and cycling corridors are proliferating across Montreal. Residents are complaining however about the lack of parking spots. Plans seems to be working, reports show volume is two to four times higher than an average commercial street.

- Montreal based company, Gildan, is reporting large second-quarter losses after sales plunged 71% due to pandemic closures. Reporting in US dollars, the company says it lost $249.7 million or $1.26 per diluted share, compared to a profit of $99.7 million last year.

- U.S. government is giving Kodak, once a force in photography, a $765 million loan for it to branch into pharmaceutical manufacturing, to be called Kodak Pharmaceuticals. The new business arm is set to produce ingredients, “lapsed in chronic national shortage” for drug manufacturing.

- Nation’s largest retailers and staples for Thanksgiving and Black Friday kick off will be closed for this year’s Thanksgiving shopping fest due to the pandemic. Notable names include Walmart, Target, and Best Buy among others, stating that driving crowds indoors is a non-starter.

- UK government hedging their bets, signing their fourth COVID-19 vaccine deal, securing 60 million doses of experimental drugs by pharmaceutical giants GSK and Sanofi. The government had already signed for 100 million doses for the AstraZeneca vaccine and 90 million of two others.
Source - Travel and airline industry bosses are demanding that the UK government end the blanket quarantine and replace it with regional travel corridors. The calls are for quarantine-free travel to areas unaffected by spikes in virus. Advocates are from British Airways, Heathrow, and Airlines UK.
