Federal News
- Canada will require all air passengers to obtain a negative COVID-19 test before arriving to Canada, in an effort to curb the pandemic. The test must be a PCR test, considered to be the gold standard and the new rule is set to come into effect within the next few days.

- Quebec has just received its first doses of the Moderna vaccine. The province now has 32,500 doses and will ramp up its vaccination campaign. Quebec is set to administer the new vaccines at the beginning of next week.

- Republican senators plan to challenge Democrat president-elect Joe Biden’s victory when Congress is set to convene to officially tally the electoral votes. This could set off a lengthy debate in the Senate, but has no real path to overturning the results.

- Lockdowns and a rise in cases overshadowing optimism around the rollout of vaccines, stocks fell in European trading today. UK’s FTSE fell 1.1% and France’s CAC 40 fell by 0.1%. The MSCI world index was flat and slightly below its record level.
