- Health Minister Patty Hajdu said that Canada’s review of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine candidate is “expected to be completed soon.” Canada is reviewing Pfizer’s vaccine alongside the United States and Europe, and expects to obtain regulatory approval on a similar timeline.

- Montreal company Garda World Security Corp. has raised its hostile takeover offer for British security firm G4S to 3.68 billion pounds or about $6.3 billion. Garda called it a final offer and set a deadline of Dec. 16 for shareholders to accept the bid.

- Quebec will be tightening health measures in stores as of Friday. Owners of commercial establishments will have to set a limit on capacity and will have to display that information at their store’s entrance. Violations of the new rules will run the risk of fines ranging from $1,000 to $6,000.

- Roche granted the U.S. emergency use authorization for its Covid-19 antibody test. The Swiss diagnostics and pharmaceutical giant said the test, called “Elecsys Anti-SARS-CoV-2 S,” specifically detects antibodies against the virus’ spike protein within blood samples.
Source - Wall Street muted as stimulus hopes collide with dismal private jobs data. Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 25.57 points or 0.09% to 29,798.35 and the S&P 500 gained 0.81 points or 0.02% to 3,663.25. The Nasdaq Composite lost 13.94 points, or 0.11%, to 12,341.16, weighed down by a 3% slide in the shares of soon-to-be an S&P 500 member Tesla Inc.

- Poland’s and Hungary’s veto of the European Union’s 1.8 trillion euro financing package has plunged the bloc into a battle that threatens to damage both its economy and unity at a time when it is already struggling to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. The deadline to come to an agreement on the 2021 budget is Dec. 7.

- Britain approved Pfizer Inc’s COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, jumping ahead of the rest of the world in the race to begin the most crucial mass inoculation programme in history. Britain’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) granted emergency use approval to the vaccine developed by Pfizer and German biotechnology partner BioNTech.
