COVID-19 & Buildings: A Concerning Issue!
Hundreds of thousands of people live in high-rise buildings, thousands of people work in office towers, how do we keep them all safe during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to make them feel comfortable to enter these structures?
Countless articles recount the issues with multi-level buildings and office towers, especially when it comes to elevator usage. A CBC article outlines the elevator as an: “indoor spaces where physical distancing is often impossible. Limiting the number of people in the elevator has led to long lineups and waits in high-rises and office towers, causing problems for workers returning to the office, keeping some from coming back at all…”. Sure, arguments can be made for using the stairs, but what happens to those that have physical limitations? Or health conditions making it difficult to go up multiple flights of stairs? A better solution needs to be presented to those in charge of such infrastructures.
The B AIR UVC product is the solution to these issues and more! It is easy to install with mounting brackets provided and holes already pre-drilled, it disinfects secondary infections, eliminates bacteria and virus that could be lingering in the air within elevators, and is also able of killing airborne fungi and mold which can also be suspended in that enclosed air.
Moreover, and possibly most importantly, the B AIR can run 24 hours and disinfect the air that is breathed in all while in the presence of people, animals, and any other living thing that might hitch a ride! Click To Tweet
Just think about the risk and the stress you can eliminate for those using the elevator all while doing your part in helping to keep the overall COVID-19 case count down since we know the high contagion level this virus has. The point is perfectly proven in a very informative article from OHS Canada that talks about a study that highlighted the risk of elevators as “contagion vectors” and that “while occupants can easily wear masks, distance from each other and avoid touching surfaces, are much more difficult in the normal context of vertical transportation”. Even the article’s author makes a point for UVC systems for a safer ride in these enclosed spaces, stating that: “I’ve seen a ventilation fan at the top of the elevator incorporating a contained UV-C bulb to sterilize the air passing through it…in addition, as buildings are getting cleaned more frequently, so are their elevators’ surfaces”.
More and more, we are beginning to see the value and the efficiency that UVC products can have for work environments or after a long day’s work when skyrise residents are on their way up to their apartments. Skyline Entourage’s B AIR 24-hour disinfection unit, among many other UVC products, is your go-to solution for clean air circulation in what usually is a Petri box that can fester harmful bacteria and viruses.
As a building landlord, operator, or manager, know that you have given the safest possible environment to those using your facility and have contributed in a great way of offering some peace of mind in a time when we are all looking for a little reassurance!
