The international trade shows world is experiencing a dramatic shift in attendance. Organizers report that visitors are coming from further and further away, and that many of them are taking part in fewer and mostly medium-sized to large events. Cities on six continents are beefing up their trade show facilities & services, while unrest (such as 2019 events in Hong Kong) are negatively impacting business tourism in other areas.
So what are the international trade shows that warrant your attention in the years ahead? In this post, we’ll look at some new and emerging shows from the apparel, energy, franchise, food and beverage, transportation and travel sectors.
THE BUSINESS SHOW UK
The Business Show is Europe’s largest B2B exhibition attracting over 20,000 visitors and 400 exhibitors, promoting new and innovative products and services, which aim to maintain, grow and develop businesses. Offering a wide variety of exhibitors, guest speakers, and masterclasses, The Business Show is one of the best and most opportunistic networking exhibitions available in Europe.
FRANCHISE EXPO FRANKFURT
The U.S company MFV has been a player in the world’s leading franchise fairs, and collaborated with the German Franchise Verband for the first time in 2018. In 2019, Franchise Expo celebrated its premiere in Germany. The Franchise Expo is the place to be for people who want to start their own business, who are interested in franchising and for companies which want to expand via franchising. The event provides attendees with the opportunity to meet exhibitors from Germany, the US, and other countries, established and new franchise brands, at all levels of investment.
EXPO PRODUCCIÓN
EXPO PRODUCCIÓN serves the complete supply chain in Mexico and Central America for the production of apparel, home and technical textiles. The expo held its fifth biennial event in 2019 at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, Mexico. The 2021 offering promises yet another vital, professional platform for manufacturers, brands, retailers and suppliers to connect, network and learn about the newest trends, products and innovations impacting the industry.
JAPAN’S FOOD EXPORT FAIR
Debuting in 2018, this expo focuses on Japan’s food and beverage export market. The show is designated as the most important platform for international importers and buyers to source Japan’s food and beverage products. Featuring 1900 exhibitors and more than 67,000 visitors.
WINE PARIS
The first major wine trade event in the French capital is a must-visit three-day business affair. The number of participating winegrowers and allied professionals is on the rise, following the inaugural event in February 2019. Wine Paris is the consolidation of two complementary trade shows, Vinisud and VinoVision Paris. In 2020, French wine regions will be joined by international exhibitors including South Africa, Algeria, Argentina, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Lebanon and Portugal. The USA ranked #2 in attendance last year.
NFBE AUTUMN (INTERNATIONAL NATURAL FOOD AND BEVERAGE EXPO)
At its inaugural 2019 event in China, this expo drew 100,000 attendees and 200 exhibitors from the natural food and healthy beverage industry. This expo aims to promote communication and cooperation among domestic food manufacturing enterprises, processing enterprises, traders and processing equipment manufacturers while also developing food markets both at home and abroad.
PROMOTEX EXPO
PromoTex EXPO is the first European-wide event of the year to present promotional, sports and workwear as well as textile decoration services. New in 2020, PromoTex EXPO promises to be a hotspot of textile decoration and a point of attraction for about 20,000 visitors.
BIE – BIOMASS INNOVATION EXPO
Established in 2018, this biennial event pens up a new dimension for the world of biomass heating. In a modern and prestigious venue at the core of international business, four days to meet technicians, distributors, engineers and interior designers, in pursuit of elegant, flexible, advanced, efficient and state-of-the-art solutions. The 2020 event in Italy is expected to draw than 150,000 attendees and 2,300 exhibitors.
WORLD TRAVEL MARKET (WTM) LATIN AMERICA
Now in its 7th year, World Travel Market Latin America is the leading global event for the Latin American travel industry. The three day must-attend business-to-business (B2B) event brings the world to Latin America and promotes Latin America to the world by creating personal and business opportunities that provide our customers with quality contacts, content and communities. Featuring more than 2000 exhibitors and 7,000 attendees.
